Andrew Laparra is one of two photographers joining us on this trip. Andrew works for Desiring God Ministries and is a great guy. Here are some of his photos from our first day here in Scotland:
We’ve arrived safely in Edinburgh! The plan is to grab some lunch and spend the afternoon acclimating to the time zone (we’re 6 hours ahead of Central Standard).
The trip was smooth-sailing, and Jesse is doing great. For those who didn’t hear, he underwent an emergency appendectomy late Thursday night, and will be recovering for the next few weeks. He can’t lift anything heavy or walk at a fast pace, but he’s here and can play the gigs with us! Please pray for his continued recovery.
We are asking the Lord to bless our ministry here. Please join us in that!
Here’s the official trailer for the trip, shot a few weeks ago at Bethel University by Andrew and Tristan (the video guys coming with us). Can’t wait to see the footage they get while we’re there!
Also, be sure to check out the amazing folding bass that we purchased for Jesse, which you can see him assembling at various points in the video. This is an incredible development for bass players, as it takes what has always been an oversized and difficult-to-travel-with instrument and makes it both size AND weight appropriate for checking under the plane with no extra charge! This saves a lot of cost both for this trip and future trips, and you may remember last year’s bass debacle at the Bucharest airport, which we won’t have to worry about anymore. Thank you Lord!
